#BoHoLover: Meet Chin We of Abstract Friday @chinw_e
We have asked Chin We of Uwanga to share her thoughts with us about her love for hotels, and Amberlair, of course. And before you ask, a #BohoLover is a Boutique Hotel lover… just like us!
How do you choose a hotel when you travel?
First of all, I do a Google search of the property, check TripAdvisor, do a Twitter search and read reviews of the hotel on travel blogs. I have certain travel bloggers and writers whose opinions I trust. I look for great food, luxury and great service. Also location is a major factor in my decision making process, I try to find somewhere conveniently located to driving or transport links.
If you had to choose 3, which were the most special (boutique) hotels you have ever stayed at and what made them so special?
The most special hotels I have stayed at are The Four Seasons hotel Florence, The Hotel Adlon Kempinski Berlin and The Crowne Plaza The City London.
They are really nice hotels, the locations were perfect, the deco and rooms was lovely and elegant. Staff were friendly, and the warmth they conveyed as if you are part of the family. The concierge at these hotels were very informative. Not forgetting, breakfast was a grand affair in these hotels, so many options to choose from.
My number 1 hotel has to be The Four Seasons Hotel, Italy. I had a pleasant stay at Four Seasons Hotel in Florence. What a wonderful hotel! A perfect and exquisite hotel. Top class services, excellent food and beautiful rooms. The building is beautiful and truly reflects the Renaissance feel of the city. The Hotel captures the culture, the atmosphere, the people and food of the city of Florence. Very elegant, historical and luxury environment and I do recommend this hotel to lovers of art and interior design and to anyone looking for luxury. Everything was perfect. Will definitely go back again!
If you had your own boutique hotel, what 3 things would you make sure existed?
I would make sure the location of the hotel is great either located to historical attractions or accessible to public transport i.e close to train station ( one of each). Also the deco of the hotel must be stylish and elegant. Lastly, great customer service by my staff.
Name 3 things you loved in hotels you stayed in before…
- It has to be the location of the hotels. Location, location matters!
- The ambience, deco and the food was very good.
- The friendly staff and exceptional customer service was great too. Not forgetting, the hotels were perfect for families with young children.
Name 3 things you wouldn’t want to experience in a hotel ever again.
- No free bottled water in the room. I think this should be standard in all hotels.
- Secondly, paying for WiFi !!! and
- Lastly not so great choice of food at breakfast.
How do you feel about the Amberlair concept?
Love Love the concept. Oh wow! Interesting . .
I love the idea that Amberlair are engaging with so many people to create this product. This will be a huge success. I can’t wait!
Where are you off to next?
I am off to Milan, Italy and I can’t wait. The last time I was in Milan was 2 years ago.
